A pool is interesting but there are things that I would like to put in the game without it, just to give my 2 cents and the way I envisioned. Maybe because of the size of the eyes? But I can use that mouth in deepthroat or some surprise themes. IRL I don't like whoreish lips or make up, but for whatever reason those lips look appropriately sized for the face.
Maybe that's why it looks good to me, I dunno. Like I said, that's one of my favourite parts of MiM, the facial expressions. I'm a huge anime fan and it's normal to have exaggerated features so the animator can easily emphasize facial features and expressions. I get what you're saying if the lips are too big, but the pictures you posted (with the clown) actually look perfect to me.
